LABORATORY PROCEDURES FOR PLANT CELL LINES Appendix REFERENCE N0.:PC/1998/4/1 Appendix 3 STANDARD LETTER: ANNOUNCEMENT OF CELL CULTURE DELIVERY <Sender> To <Receiver> <Ref.> DD.MM.YYYY Dear Customer
First of all many thanks for you request and placing trust in our organization. Before we can deliver the cell line you requested it has to be <propagated/recovered from the frozen state>. Therefore the cell line cannot be delivered directly but with a short delay. The cell line will probably be ready for delivery on the <date>. Since all our plant cell lines are delivered in the living state we cannot avoid that in some cases they might arrive slightly damaged. To assure that they can be placed on fresh medium directly after arrival we include two petri dishes with fresh medium in our sending. You will also receive a recipe of the medium. If the cultures still do not show growth after arrival do not hesitate to contact us for further information or even a replacement of the cultures. The cell lines are usually sent by normal mail. On your expense we can also organize delivery by a private parcel service. If you prefer a private parcel service please inform us soon enough. With kind regards Yours Sincerely
